Running from 26th June – 2nd July, Care Home Open Week is all about welcoming members of the local community into their local care home, so they can experience the facilities, enjoy the activities, and meet residents and team members alike.
A number of Somerset Care residential care homes, nursing homes, and specialist dementia care homes are opening their doors and hosting a range of free events during the week. Whether you are considering care options for yourself or a loved one, or thinking of joining the Somerset Care team, why not pop along to an open day or event near you?

Monday 26th June
- 10am onwards – Recruitment open day at Moorhaven, Taunton
- 10am – Greetings card making at Pulsford Lodge, Wiveliscombe
- 10am-4pm – Bric-a-brac and book stall at Pulsford Lodge, Wiveliscombe
- 10:30am – Bowling and dancercise at Oak Trees, Bridgwater
- 10:30am – Cook and chat at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 10:30m-5pm (subject to availability) – Hair and beauty treatments at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 11am – Phoenix Voices choir performance at Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 1-5pm – Open afternoon and summer fayre at Critchill Court, Frome
- 2pm – Ice cream and garden activities at Cooksons Court, Yeovil
Tuesday 27th June
- 10am-4pm – Bric-a-brac and book stall at Pulsford Lodge, Wiveliscombe
- 10:30am – Flexercise at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 10:30am-12 noon – Games in the garden at Croft House, Williton
- 11am – Sports day with picnic lunch at Oak Trees, Bridgwater
- 2pm – Open afternoon and buffet at Sydenham House, Bridgwater
- 2:30pm – Church service and choir at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 3pm – Cream tea and live musical entertainment at Moorhaven, Taunton
Wednesday 28th June
- 10am-4pm – Bric-a-brac and book stall at Pulsford Lodge, Wiveliscombe
- From 10:30am – Recruitment open day at Grovelands, Yeovil
- 10:30am – Wine and cheese tasting with live music at Oak Trees, Bridgwater
- 10:30am – Live music and entertainment at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 11am – Coffee morning at Greenhill House, Cheddar
- 11am – Gardening Club at Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 12:30pm – 1950s/60s themed garden party and open day at Lavender Court, Taunton
- 2:30pm – Cream tea and musical entertainment at Croft House, Williton
- Afternoon – Jet off to faraway lands with a VR headset experience at Cooksons Court, Yeovil
Thursday 29th June
- 10am-4pm – Bric-a-brac and book stall at Pulsford Lodge, Wiveliscombe

- From 10:30am – Recruitment open day at Sunnymeade, Chard
- 10:30am – Coffee morning and raffle at Frith House, Burnham-on-Sea
- 10:30am – Yoga with fitness bands at Oak Trees, Bridgwater
- 10:30am – Arts and crafts at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 11am – Quiz and games at Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 12:45pm – The Big Lunch buffet and live music at Moorhaven, Taunton

Friday 30th June
- 10am-4pm – Recruitment open day at Emma Sheppard Centre, Rowden House, Frome
- 10am-4pm – Bric-a-brac and book stall at Pulsford Lodge, Wiveliscombe
- 10:30am – Tree planting ceremony in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II at Moorhaven, Taunton
- 10:30am – 12noon – Prize bingo at Croft House, Williton
- 10:30am – Forest crafts at Burnworthy House, South Petherton
- 11am – Garden party at Oak Trees, Bridgwater
- Afternoon – Champagne, strawberries and tennis-themed activities at Moorhaven, Taunton
- 2pm – Live music and entertainment at Calway House, Taunton
- 2-4pm – Beach party in the garden at Southlawns, Street

Saturday 1st July
