Celebrating our everyday heroes at the Somerset Care Group Awards

We were recently proud to celebrate the inspirational achievements of Somerset Care Group colleagues over the past year.

Recognising the incredible work of individuals and teams from all areas of organisation, our 2024 Somerset Care Group Awards provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate unsung heroes, and hear what a difference they make to those they support.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, finalists, colleagues, customers and sponsors gathered at Haynes Motor Museum to crown our 2024 Somerset Care Group Award winners, and be inspired and uplifted by stories of exceptional care, compassion and dedication to supporting people to live the life they choose.

Outstanding Achievement Award

A surprise new category, this existence of this award remained top secret until the awards ceremony itself.

The Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to Mandy Thorne in recognition of the difference she has made and the inspiration she has been to others, over more than two decades at the Halcon Centre respite and residential care home for younger adults with physical disabilities in Taunton.

The Harry Patch Award

Sponsored by Burges Salmon LLP, this award is presented in honour of Harry Patch, the ‘Last Surviving Tommy’ and a former resident at our Fletcher House care home in Wells.

The Harry Patch Award recognises those who have delivered exceptional service to those in our care, across our entire range of services. We are delighted that this year’s award has been presented to Alison Tiltman, Registered Manager of our Burnworthy House care home in South Petherton.

Huge congratulations to all of our nominees, across all award categories, and all areas of the Somerset Care Group. We are proud to work alongside you!
