How does home care work?
Like all person-centred care, home care services are centred around the needs of the individual, and the type and level of support that they need.
The first step to arranging home care for elderly individuals or those needing additional support is a care assessment. Carried out by the home care service provider, this is a way of getting to know the individual who will receive home care and understanding the type of support that they need to live well.
As well as taking into account any medical conditions, mobility support requirements and personal care needs, the care assessment considers the well-being of the individual, their interests and preferences. This approach of understanding the whole person ensures that their emotional, physical and medical needs can be safely and effectively met by their home care package.
Following the care assessment, the home care provider will arrange a package of bespoke home care to enable you to thrive in your own home.
Our local and dedicated home care teams can work flexibly to fit in with your existing lifestyle, and help you to keep enjoying the things you love.
