Frith House: Nine years on, still OUTSTANDING
Nine years on from first receiving the highest possible accolade from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and our Burnham-on-Sea residential and dementia care home is once again celebrating being rated Outstanding at its latest inspection.
Located just off the seafront at Burnham-on-Sea, Frith House provides specialist dementia support, as well as short-term respite breaks and longer-term residential care, within a bright, comfortable and welcoming environment. The home is part of the award-winning, not-for-profit Somerset Care Group, and has held the CQC’s coveted ‘Outstanding’ rating since 2017.
Praise from the Care Quality Commission
At its latest inspection, the CQC praised Frith House for creating ‘a calm, welcoming environment’, with ‘dignity, kindness, respect and person-centred care’ at its heart.
The CQC observed that the ‘care and support provided by kind and compassionate staff led to meaningful outcomes for people using the service’, including ‘improved wellbeing, emotional reassurance, enhanced engagement, reduced distress, strengthened relationships, and positive lived experiences’.
Frith House residents ‘felt safe and well cared for’, and described the home as having ‘a feeling of family which gave them a sense of belonging’. Those receiving care are ‘treated with dignity and respect and included in all decisions about their care and the running of the home’.
The team were praised for being ‘exceptional at promoting people’s independence’, resulting in a ‘positive culture where people felt valued and engaged’.
