Newlyweds celebrate with family at Stockmoor Lodge
The team at our Stockmoor Lodge nursing home in Bridgwater, recently pulled out all the stops to support one of their residents celebrate the wedding of her granddaughter – by hosting the wedding reception!
Celebrating together
Jean, who initially visited Stockmoor Lodge for respite care, decided to move into the home several years ago to receive residential care. She was unfortunately unable to attend her granddaughter’s wedding ceremony as it was too far for her to travel, but the couple were determined that she wouldn’t miss out. Wanting to make sure she could be part of their celebrations, Stacey and her new husband, Ashley, made arrangements with the team at Stockmoor Lodge to hold an intimate wedding reception in the place which Jean calls home.
The team dressed the home in the newlywed’s chosen colours, with teal and gold balloons, fresh flowers, and a special copy of their in-house publication, ‘The Newlywed Times’, to celebrate the wedding of the new Mr & Mrs Stewart. Jean was absolutely thrilled to be able to raise a glass to toast her granddaughter and new grandson-in-law, and be part of such a special occasion for the whole family.
