Make some noise for Care Home Open Week
This Care Home Open Week (16th – 22nd June), our specialist residential, dementia and nursing homes are looking forward to welcoming their local communities in to join in with the fun.
The theme of this year’s Care Home Open Week is ‘The power of music’, so there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy live entertainment and creativity at our care homes as part of their programme of community activities and events.
We warmly invite you to visit your local care home during Care Home Open Week – take a look around, meet our lovely teams and residents, enjoy a cuppa and a chat, and perhaps even join in with a singalong!

What’s on
Monday 16th June
- 10am – Test your general knowledge with a Quiz Morning, complete with tea, coffee and cake – Southlawns, Street
- 10:30am – Join in with the fun of Games Morning – Sydenham House, Bridgwater
- 10:30am – 12:30pm – Take part in a prize quiz encompassing all aspects of care – Fletcher House, Wells
- 11am – Join in with a singalong of classic tunes – Greenhill House, Cheddar
- 11am – Make feathered friends with a visit from Owl Obsession – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- From 10:30am – Witness the official opening of the Croft House summer Art Exhibition, with musical entertainment from David Milton and cream teas – Croft House, Williton
- 2pm – Enjoy some friendly competition during Games Afternoon – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 2:30pm – Live entertainment from band Simply Uke – Southlawns, Street
- 2:30pm – Learn about ‘A Day in the Life of a Care Worker’, and take part in an information Q&A session – Fletcher House, Wells
Tuesday 17th June
- 10:30am – Singalong with Steve from Memory Lane – Southlawns, Street
- 10:30am – 12:30pm and 2:30-4pm – Nourish your wellbeing with a pampering session in a relaxing atmosphere – Fletcher House, Wells
- 11am – Enjoy live musical entertainment from singer, Justin – Sydenham House, Bridgwater
- 11am – 3pm – Open Day with tea or coffee, cake and outdoor activities (weather permitting) – Calway House, Taunton
- 11am – 3pm – View resident artworks at the Art Exhibition – Croft House, Williton
- 2pm – Enjoy Tunes and Treats in the garden – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 2pm – Get energised with a Shake and Wake session – Southlawns, Street
- 2:15pm – Enjoy a visit from the Singing for Pleasure Choir – Greenhill House, Cheddar
Wednesday 18th June
- 10:30am – Bring your creativity for Art Morning – Sydenham House, Bridgwater
- 10:30am – 12:30pm and 2:30-4pm – Enjoy ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ activities including gentle exercises, mindfulness and music therapy – Fletcher House, Wells
- 11am – Enjoy a performance from The Phoenix Voices choir – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 11am – 3pm – Celebrate National Picnic Day with a Mad Hatters Tea Party, complete with picnic lunch (fancy dress welcome) – Croft House, Williton
- 2pm – Put your knowledge to the test with a Music Quiz – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
Thursday 19th June
- From 10am – See the fruits of the Gardening Club’s labour on a guided tour of the garden – Southlawns, Street
- 10:30am – Grab a cuppa for the Church Coffee Morning – Croft House, Williton

- 2pm – Get creative with Painting to Music – Cooksons Court, Yeovil

Friday 20th June
- From 10am – Get creative during a Craft and Coffee morning – Southlawns, Street
- 10:30am – Enjoy a cuppa and chat at the Coffee Morning & Cake Sale – Sydenham House, Bridgwater
- 10:30am – 12 noon – Dabbers at the ready for prize bingo – Croft House, Williton
- 10:30am – 12:30pm – Join residents for a coffee morning and mini tour of the home – Fletcher House, Wells
- 11am – Sit back and enjoy a singing show by Maria Flori – Greenhill House, Cheddar
- 11am – 3pm – View resident artworks at the Art Exhibition – Croft House, Williton
- 2pm – Tap your feet to some Room Side Rhythms – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
- 2:30pm – Join in with a Mini Sports Day with fun games and prizes – Southlawns, Street
- 2:30 – 4:30pm – Enjoy a taste of Michelina’s Kitchen with authentic Italian dishes to savour – Fletcher House, Wells
- 6-8pm – Tease your brain and win a prize at the Trivia & Tombola Night – Emma Sheppard Centre, adjacent to Rowden House, Frome
- 6:30pm – Take a guided tour of the home and facilities – Rowden House, Frome
Saturday 21st June
- 10:30am – Eyes down for a game of bingo – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
Sunday 22nd June
- 11am – Get tactical with Scrabble Club – Cooksons Court, Yeovil
