Geoff's grand day out at the rugby
Chard resident, Geoff, who is supported to live independently in his own home by the Somerset Care home care team, recently enjoyed a very special day out at Chard Rugby Club.
An event to remember
As sponsors of Chard RFC, Somerset Care was invited to attend the Club’s sponsors day earlier this month. We decided to extend the invitation to Geoff, who was supported to attend the event by one of his care team, Team Leader, Kieron Robinson.
After ordering himself a half pint and a coffee, and eating some tasty buffet food, Geoff enjoyed chatting with the other guests and watching the club’s home game against Topsham.
Empowering people through care
Kieron says:
“Geoff loves to get out and about, and feel part of his local community – and there’s no reason why receiving home care should stop him doing any of that.
“One of the things that I love about working in care is empowering people to do what they enjoy, and it was a real pleasure to support Geoff to attend this event. It’s clear to see from the big smile on his face that he had a lovely day – and he has already asked when he can go back again!
“I would like to say a huge thank you to Chard RFC for making Geoff feel so welcome. I’m sure he will be back to visit again, very soon!”
