Amazing Audrey celebrates her 107th birthday
Many happy returns to Audrey, much-loved resident at Somerset Care’s Calway House specialist nursing and residential care home in Taunton, who recently celebrated her 107th birthday!
Audrey, who has called Calway House her home for the past 3 years, was born in Portsmouth in November 1916, and grew up there as the youngest child of six, with four older sisters and an older brother. She spent the war years living in Slough, working in an aircraft factory.
In the past, Audrey has been very fond of swimming, but these days a spot of people-watching and karaoke are more her style. Whilst she never married, she loves to tell people that she is just about to walk up the aisle!
Audrey celebrated her 107th birthday with her fellow Calway House residents and carers, munching on her favourite pink wafer biscuits, and enjoying a special celebration cake home-baked for her by the Calway kitchen team. She is proud to have received her 7th birthday card from the Royal Family, and her first from King Charles III.
On behalf of everyone at Somerset Care and Calway House – congratulations, Audrey!
