Stockmoor Lodge opened in March 2017 and is Somerset Care's newest care home. Stockmoor Lodge is a modern, purpose-built nursing home with specialist dementia care provision, located in the town of Bridgwater. The home offers a varied programme of activities to take part in, a team of highly-trained, qualified nurses and experienced health care assistants, as well as bright, spacious rooms.
All the bedrooms at Stockmoor Lodge are well furnished, and residents are able to personalise their room if they wish to do so. All the rooms are single with en-suite facilities, which include a walk-in shower. Bedrooms come complete with a television and telephone points as standard, as well as a nurse call system and access to a lift or stair lift. Ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the gardens.
The home is modern and comfortable, providing accommodation over three floors with lovely, far-reaching views of the countryside. Inside, renowned interior designer Diana Celella, combines practical features with colourful, eye-catching detail. Diana works closely with the dementia services development centre at the University of Stirling and is Chairman of the SBID Healthcare Design Advisory Council; she specialises in designing beautiful rooms that incorporate an understanding of people living with dementia.
Stockmoor Lodge has a dedicated activities co-ordinator who organises a variety of events and activities for residents to take part in.
Facilities include a hairdressing salon and coffee lounge.
We have IT facilities available for all to use including Wi-Fi and Skype, which can be used to maintain contact with friends and relatives that may not live locally. Our staff team are always happy to help anyone wanting to use these services.
Stockmoor Lodge benefits from its own kitchen and catering staff, with meals prepared daily onsite, to suit a wide range of dietary requirements.
24-hour care is provided by dedicated, highly qualified nurses and health care assistants along with support from a housekeeping team. All Somerset Care staff receive full induction and ongoing training to ensure that we provide the best possible service. Many of our staff hold NVQ (QCF) qualifications, and our commitment to training and investment in our staff has led to us being awarded the prestigious Investor in People (IIP) award.
Being a member of the Somerset Care Group means that we can offer staff trained to the highest standards of professional service as well as the other benefits that are available to a large organisation, all whilst being local to the community we serve.
As well as a varied programme of activities on offer, we also participate in community groups, including the Wilstock and Stockmoor Lodge Buggy Walks group and the Redgate and Somerset Bridge Singing Group.
