Pulsford Lodge is situated in the small market town of Wiveliscombe, standing on the foothills of the Brendon and Quantock Hills on the Somerset/Devon border, with Exmoor National Park on the doorstep. The home enjoys magnificent views over Exmoor, and the surrounding countryside.
Pulsford Lodge has been significantly redeveloped and offers high quality, comfortable accommodation in attractive landscaped gardens.
All of our bedrooms are furnished to a high standard, and residents are actively encouraged to personalise their rooms. The accommodation consists of single rooms, most with en-suite facilities, offering permanent and respite accommodation. All rooms are single, however, if you are a couple you may wish to share a bedroom and use a second room as your own private sitting room.
Pulsford Lodge offers a number of lounges which are all well-appointed, some overlooking the beautiful views of the Quantocks and Exmoor, while others have patio areas leading out onto the level, landscaped gardens.
Pulsford Lodge has two activities co-ordinators who organise a variety of activities for residents to take part in. These range from arts and crafts, quizzes, reminiscence, individual one to one sessions, Life Story activities, music and movement, film club, outings and our ever-popular gardening club. We have links with the local schools and are very much part of the community, contributing to our local 10Radio.
We have our own hairdressing salon, ‘Scissors’, with a comfortable lounge for you to relax and enjoy the company of other residents while awaiting your appointment.
We have IT facilities available for all to use including Wi-Fi and Skype, which can be used to maintain contact with friends and relatives that may not live locally.
Pulsford Lodge benefits from its own kitchen and catering staff, with meals prepared daily on-site to suit a wide range of dietary requirements.
A hardworking and conscientious team of qualified care and housekeeping staff provide 24-hour care. All Somerset Care staff receive full induction and ongoing training to ensure that we provide the best possible service. Many of our staff hold NVQ (QCF) qualifications, and our commitment to training and investment in our staff has led to us being awarded the prestigious Investor in People (IIP) award.
Being a member of the Somerset Care Group means that we can offer staff trained to the highest standards of professional service and the other benefits that are available to a large organisation whilst at the same time being local to the community we serve.
