Frith House

Nestled in a residential area of Burnham-on-Sea, within walking distance of the seafront and the town centre, our home has been designed to meet the needs of those we are privileged to support. Rated Outstanding by CQC in September 2017, we have a reputation for providing high quality care and support to those who live with us, stay with us for a short while, or just spend the day at Frith House.

Life begins at Frith House

We champion the independence of our residents and encourage them to live their lives as they choose.

We have a team of Activities Co-ordinators dedicated to supporting residents to take part in the things they love to do, whether this is a stroll on the beach for some fresh air, taking part in a skittles match or appreciating live music from the comfort of home. If there’s something you’d like to do that we don’t yet offer you may be pleasantly surprised at the choice and support available.

“There is lots to do each day, and time to just sit and watch TV when I felt like doing that.”

Outstanding food

Our onsite kitchen provides a varied choice of nutritious meals prepared fresh daily. If you’d like something other than what’s on offer, all you need to do is speak to the kitchen team who will do their utmost to prepare something just for you. We offer cooked breakfasts made to order, 7 days a week. We also have an onsite bar for our residents to enjoy.

“I made some good friends during my stay and we enjoyed meal times together, and I actually started to eat more than I usually do at home!”

Outstanding, innovative support

Here at Frith House, we provide care for those living with dementia. Our Petals suite provides a secure but stimulating and comfortable dementia-friendly environment. We call this dedicated dementia care ‘Petals’ because it reflects the following values and actions; person-centred, empowerment, trust, activities, life history and stimulation.

We embrace technology and recognise the benefits it provides to those we support; our home has Wi-Fi and video calling facilities for our residents to keep in touch with friends and family who may not live locally.

We piloted the ‘Our Yesterday’ reminiscence software, enabling residents to revisit the news and styles of decades gone by. This proved so popular with residents that this innovation has been rolled out across the Somerset Care Group.

Outstanding staff

The people who work at Frith House share the philosophy that life moves at your pace; we don’t set routines for our residents and encourage them to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. All staff are recruited through a rigorous process to ensure they are well-suited to the caring profession. Our team members receive full training to the highest standards, some in specialist areas such as dementia care, so that they are able to provide the best quality of person-centred care.
