Portcullis House welcomes Nicola as new Manager

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Nicola Daykin as Manager of Portcullis House in Langport.

Nicola is a familiar face to those at Portcullis House and in the local community, having worked at the home since for over five years.

Nicola began her career with Somerset Care back in 1998 at the age of 16, when she started as a Care Assistant at Fletcher House in Wells. Progressing through the ranks and gaining a wealth of experience, Nicola was appointed Manager at Field House in 2010, before taking time out to start a family.

In 2014, Nicola returned to Somerset Care, taking up a Supervisor post at Portcullis House, before being offered the Deputy position last year. Staff and residents at the Langport care home are delighted with Nicola’s appointment and are excited to have her at the helm of the home.

Speaking on her appointment, Nicola said: “I’m incredibly proud to have been appointed manager at Portcullis House. We had a really good inspection from CQC this year and the next step is an ‘Outstanding’ rating.  The residents are amazing, which is why our amazing staff team work around the clock to provide the best standards of care and support. One thing I’m really looking forward to is engaging with the local community more. If any groups or associations are interested in working with us at Portcullis House, please do get in touch.”

Located in Langport, Portcullis House provides day care, respite breaks, residential and specialist dementia care in a secure, homely environment.
