Our Realise and React teams, who support individuals with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, brain injuries and Autism, are celebrating receiving some much-deserved recognition at the Great British Care Awards.
Collecting three accolades at the awards ceremony in Bristol earlier this month, the team were thrilled with the nominations they received from customers, partner agencies and members of the public.
National recognition for outstanding care
The Great British Care Awards celebrate excellence across the care sector, paying tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Realise and React team members triumphed in three categories at the South West regional final. Here is what nominees had to say about the care and support they provide:
HIGHLY COMMENDED: The Frontline Leaders Award
Katie-Jane Knott, React – Realise South West
"Katie-Jane is very inspirational in her passion, commitment, and dedication to supporting people to improve the quality of their lives and life outcomes! She works in a high-pressured 24/7 environment supporting people in crisis. Katie-Jane has put in a lot of effort to develop her own leadership skills so that she can more effectively support others. Well done for an exceptional and dedicated service and one that is truly making a difference to people’s lives in the South West."
WINNER: The Home Care Co-ordinator Award
Suzanne Mee – Realise South West
"Suzanne is a very dedicated person putting staff and clients first, as a team leader working alongside the care team. She goes above and beyond, goes the extra mile and helps staff to do better by involving other professionals where needed to help staff in their development, and to deliver a more efficient service."
WINNER: The Housing with Care Award
Emma Pike – Realise South West
"Emma has a warmth about her, but also a certain kind of confidence that seems so unique. Emma makes it her job to get to know the person, not just the diagnosis. Emma promotes choice and provides care with dignity, whilst showing empathy throughout."
Head of Specialist Services Andrea Bacon said:
"The Realise team undertake great work every day bringing enrichment to the lives of the people they support.
"To be recognised and nominated for an award by external agencies for delivering a good service and doing a great job is the ultimate compliment, so I would like to congratulate our winners and express how extremely proud I am of the entire team who supported Katie, Sue and Emma to achieve the greatness they have."
