Somerset Care’s Chief Executive Alyson Martin has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Alyson receives her award for her services to social care, a sector to which she has dedicated her working life. She has worked for Somerset Care and Somerset County Council before this for almost 30 years. Alyson said, “I was completely surprised but very honoured to have been awarded an MBE. I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout my career, including the thousands of staff who provide care and support to our vulnerable clients.” Alyson will receive her MBE at Buckingham Palace later this year.
