Grovelands residential home is thrilled to announce the success of their Activities Coordinator, Yvonne Rodber at this year’s Care Focus Awards. Yvonne was presented with the award of ‘Outstanding Learner’ at the gala dinner held at Wellsprings Leisure Centre.
Yvonne has been working as Activities Coordinator at Grovelands for 2 1/2 years and in that time has gained various qualifications including an NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care and a Creative Activity Therapy Award. Talking about her work Yvonne said, “I enjoy my role bringing person-centred care to residents by putting the person first and not the dementia. I like to give the residents choices when doing activities. I also respect their dignity, privacy and independence.” Grovelands Manager Jackie Howells said, “We are really proud of Yvonne. She has worked really hard to gain her qualification and is a real asset to our home.”










Somerset Care was delighted to welcome His Royal Higness the Duke of Kent KG to Croft House in Williton. Croft House is a recently built, 67-bedded residential home owned by the Somerset Care Group, and was completed in May 2011.
